Denard Span on record pace

The Nationals Denard Span extended his Hit streak to 28 games, the longest of the 2013 season as his Nats swept the doubleheader from the Atlanta Braves to get to only 4.5 games back of the Redlegs for the 2nd wild card. If Span continues his hitting streak for the remaining 11 games the streak will reach 39 games, the longest to end the season since Jimmy Rollins.
